ince 1985, Jack Ledbetter has been photographing the landscape of Maine. At the outset his subject was limited to coastal regions, with the result of his work having been featured in a first book, Maine: The Coast and Islands, Rizzoli, 1989. This publication has been well received, as have his many photo essays which have been featured in Down East Magazine. After the publication of his first full-length book, he began to photograph throughout the entire state of Maine.
The photographer maintains a studio/gallery in Northeast Harbor. There he exhibits large, cibachrome prints, along with smaller black and white contact prints. These photographs along with his black and white nudes and portraits are popular with both summer residents and the native population. Many galleries in Maine have exhibited his landscapes.
Jack Ledbetter is a native of Georgia, and maintains residences in Albany, Georgia and Northeast Harbor, Maine.
